Between May-October, numerous performers share the story of Nauvoo through vignettes, shows, and concerts. The schedule varies; you can see current option on the app.


"The Promise"
The Promise is a 60-minute, fictional tale set in Nauvoo. The city’s growing pains provide the backdrop for a humorous romance or two, along with a message about the power of faith in trying circumstances.

"Sunset By the Mississippi"
Join us for some old-fashioned, toe-tapping fun in this 60-minute variety show performed by the Nauvoo Performing Missionaries.

"Be Your Own Hero"
This giggle-fest is a favorite among our young visitors, but the positive message is meant for children and adults alike. The performance lasts approximately 40 minutes.

"Bagpipe Band"
It wouldn’t be Pageant Season without the bagpipe band. You might see them parading on Mulholland Street or playing at the Country Fair before the Pageant. You’ll also hear them around the sites, and sometimes they play out of town at local festivals, parades, and concerts in the region. Check the app for the current schedule.

"King Follett Discourse"
A retelling of a discourse delivered by Joseph Smith in the West Grove on April 7, 1844. Our performance will be in the Partridge Street Grove. 15 minutes.

"Trail of Hope"
Walk down Parley Street toward the Mississippi River in the evening and hear inspiring stories from journal entries of the pioneers as they departed Nauvoo for their journey west. The vignettes provided by the Nauvoo Performing Missionaries take about 30 minutes, but you are welcome to remain behind and continue reading the signs along the trail.
At the indoor performance, hear the same inspiring accounts, but consider visiting the trail on Parley Street later if possible.

"The Love of the Savior"
The Nauvoo Performing Missionaries, with the Nauvoo Brass Band, provide sacred music and the spoken word to honor the Savior, Jesus Christ. Program lasts about an hour.

Praise His Name in The Dance
Psalm 149:3 urges the faithful to “praise His name in the dance” and so come along and join in with this celebration of the importance of dance and uplifting social interaction in Old Nauvoo. Learn about the different cultural dance traditions of the Saints in the 1840s.
